YOUR YARD. YOUR INFORMATION.

Privacy & data

yesyards is an independent landscape planning service. It is not affiliated with Utah Water Savers, CUWCD, the State of Utah, or a water district. Planning checks are not official approvals, professional design advice, or a promise of incentive payment.

What we save

Without signing in, projects and processed photos stay in this browser’s IndexedDB storage. They can be lost if you clear browser data or switch devices. Export your project for a backup. Signed-in projects are stored in Supabase with account-based access controls. Cloud photos use a private bucket and short-lived signed links. The website runs on Vercel.

Application and reimbursement records

Application fields, inspection status and uploaded documents are stored in owner-protected Supabase tables. Each attachment is limited to 4 MB. The project owner can grant a specific account read access to a selected plan or installation photo and revoke that access. Bills, receipts, agreements and approval records stay private to the owner. Downloaded copies remain with their recipients after access is revoked. Tax forms should be submitted directly to the official administrator.

Project location

Your ZIP and editable city are saved with your project. Adding a street address is optional. Choosing Check address sends the street and ZIP to the U.S. Census Bureau to identify the community. Only the water provider can confirm property eligibility. ZIP suggestions use Utah records from GeoNames under the CC BY 4.0 license.

Your photos

Uploaded JPG, PNG, and WebP images are resized and re-encoded in your browser before storage to remove embedded metadata, including GPS. Avoid photos with faces, license plates, or personal documents. Do not upload tax forms or Social Security numbers.

Concepts and contractors

Generating a photo concept sends your first before-photo and design brief to OpenAI when that service is enabled. Generated images are saved privately to your account. If the owner uses a custom renderer, the interface identifies that service connection before generation. Choosing Use illustration does not send a photo to an AI service. Quote requests are private drafts; nothing is sent to contractors automatically.

Your choices

You can export your project as JSON and delete projects and their photos from My projects. Sign-out clears the displayed cloud projects. Device drafts remain on the device until you delete them. Cloud database backups may retain deleted data according to the Supabase project’s backup settings. No advertising or analytics trackers are installed.

Information quality

Plant facts include sources and review dates. Supplier prices are homeowner-entered until a verified feed is connected. Incentive rules apply only to the identified CUWCD residential program; city and HOA rules must be checked independently. Last updated October 30, 2026.
